Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) introduced the Incentivize Energy-Saving Improvements Act (H.R. 8547) to make permanent 179D of the tax code that offsets the high costs of energy efficient components and systems for commercial, high-rise multifamily residential, health care, institutional, public, and educational facilities.
NASEO joins key partners in endorsing H.R. 8547, including the Building Owners and Managers Association International, American Gas Association, Air Conditioning Contractors of America, National Association of Home Builders, the Energy Systems Group, and many others.
In his endorsement of the bill, NASEO Executive Director David Terry notes, “This legislation is a critical component of a forward-thinking energy policy. The tax deduction for energy efficiency in commercial buildings is a critical way to save energy, save money and make our economy more competitive.”
