On June 27, 2024, NASEO published the report, “Beating the Heat: Recommendations and Considerations for States to Support Cost-Effective Residential Cooling”. This report supplements a four-part summer webinar series co-hosted by NASEO and the Center of Energy Poverty and Climate (CEPC) featuring expert-led discussions on the nexus of public health and adequate cooling, funding and financing for energy efficiency measures and cooling technologies.
Many State Energy Offices and their partners in other state agencies play critical leadership roles in ensuring that communities and households, regardless of income and other barriers, can invest in affordable cooling solutions to stay comfortable and safe in extreme heat. The report draws on various examples across the country of demonstrated state leadership. To access the full report, please click here.
