NASEO and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) convene the Grid Integration of EVs and Charging Working Group, bringing together State Energy Office and State Department of Transportation staff to address challenges and opportunities in integrating EVs with the grid. Topics include but are not limited to:
- Improving state-utility coordination;
- Exploring battery storage, solar, and other local energy assets (also known as distributed energy resources);
- Understanding the role of rate structures and managed charging technologies in EV economics and electricity demand;
- Integrating EV forecasting into distribution planning on the state and/or regional level
